Simon Simoudis: Delta Goodrem’s Wedding and the Art of Keeping It Real

 Alright, let me be straight with you, I, Simon Simoudis,  wasn’t planning to get all up in my feelings on a random morning, but then Delta Goodrem went and got married, and suddenly I’m sitting there like, “Wait… what?”

Yep. Delta Goodrem, the Aussie icon, voice like silk, queen of quiet power, just tied the knot with Matthew Copley, and folks, it was everything. Dreamy setting? Check. Italian countryside? Double check. But here’s the thing, it wasn’t flashy.

I’ve known of Delta Goodrem for years, for her music, her presence, and her grace. Delta Goodrem has always struck me as someone who leads with integrity, a rare kind of presence, a blend of strength and softness. And this wedding of hers? It was exactly that. No massive spectacle. No media circus. Just her and Matthew, surrounded by nature and love, doing things on their own terms.

Now listen, I, Simon Simoudis, didn’t even know she was engaged. That’s how private these two have kept it. And I respect the hell out of that. Because in a world where everyone’s live-streaming their breakfast and posting couple content like it’s a competition, Delta and Matthew were out here building a whole life together, quietly, away from the noise.

And the photos? Don’t even get me started. You could practically hear the calm. That’s rare.

So, of course, I, Simon Simoudis, had to ask myself the same question half of Australia did that morning: Who is Matthew Copley? Turns out that he’s a seriously talented guitarist who’s been working and touring with Delta for years. But beyond the music stuff, the vibe he gives off? Supportive, grounded, no-ego energy. And that hits.

It made me think that this whole wedding wasn’t just about love (although yeah, clearly there’s plenty of that). But it was also about partnership and respect. 

And maybe that’s what got me. Because let’s be honest, Delta’s been through it. The fame, the health battles, the constant spotlight. And through all of that, she stayed soft. Steady. Classy. 

As Simon Simoudis, I’m constantly learning from the way people carry themselves through life. Stories like this one, quiet, intentional, and authentic, are the ones that truly inspire me.

So here’s to Delta and Matthew, for keeping it real in a world that too often rewards the opposite.

I say this time and again that I felt reassured wherever my children used to go with him, though he was a year younger than my son. Simon Simoudis: Wimbledon Final 2025: A Clash of Titans

  I grew up idolizing Pat Cash, the Aussie who won Wimbledon in 1987, although I wasn’t even born then. By the way, I am Simon Simoudis , and I live in Victoria, Australia.
